Privacy

The short version

Your conversations are private. There are no public profiles, no sharing and no selling of your data. You can delete any reading, or everything, at any time.

What we store

• The text of conversations you submit (pasted, typed, or transcribed from screenshots) and the analysis we generate.
• Follow-up coach chats and the private notes you write about people.
• An anonymous device ID kept in your browser, which links your history to this device. No name, email or phone number is required.
• A short-lived usage counter (deleted automatically after 24 hours) used to prevent abuse.

Screenshots

Screenshots are resized on your device, sent once to be transcribed into text, and are not saved by Textual Tension. Only the transcribed text you confirm is stored.

AI processing

To generate insights, your conversation text (and screenshots, for transcription) is sent to a third-party AI model provider (currently Google Gemini, through our AI gateway provider). Those providers process data under their own terms and retention policies, which we do not control.

Deleting your data

Deleting a reading or using "Delete all my data" permanently removes it from the Textual Tension database. We cannot guarantee deletion from third-party AI providers' systems beyond what their own policies provide. Clearing your browser storage removes the device ID, after which your history can no longer be accessed from this device.

Please be thoughtful

Conversations include other people's words. Only submit messages you have a legitimate reason to review, and avoid sharing highly sensitive information such as passwords, financial or health details.
